The team at Widmer’s in Erlanger, KY were wonderful to work with! My son got married in October 2024, and as I surprise gift to my new DIL, I had her wedding dress cleaned and preserved for her. My mother did that for me, so it was important to me to pass that gesture along. I will say, though, when you drop off an item, such as a beautiful wedding dress (that doesn’t even belong to you), and hand the trust over to complete strangers to take care of it, that is a bit unnerving! Never fear, though! The team at Widmer’s/Erlanger, KY, went above and beyond to assure everything was perfect and done just right. Their communication during the process was exceptional which helped ease the nerves. I highly recommend them and put my full trust in them! Check them out!

I honestly am at a lose for words, well nice ones anyways. I am marrying a friend of mine and took my shirt/pants/tie in to have it cleaned (Professionally cleaned). I am posting pictures to show next stains still there, stains still in every place. I will tell people don’t waste your money just clean it yourself. If I wanted a professional to do my flooring only to find I got the guy from Home Depot parking lot, who has only done flooring once. I would be upset and this is what this feels like, so no to go home and treat and clean it all over again. From what I have said and shown this is a rip off.

You can read all my reviews, I’m positive and I’m fair. But darn it, some businesses will take advantage of you as a customer and basically rob you blind. I’ll be the first to admit and take ownership of my part in all of this. But first here is what happened. I travel all over the United States for work. I have been gone two weeks, I’m flying home to the west coast, early Saturday morning then turning around Sunday to fly to the south eastern states to continue my project. Only on occasion do I go to a dry cleaner and ask them to wash my clothes, but because of my quick turnaround, this was an occasion that made sense that I do just that. I always explain that my clothes are wash and wear. They are mostly nylon or polyester and spandex, I do not iron and I need clothing that folds small to fit in my luggage without getting wrinkled. I’ve done this for 11 years so I’m quite the pro at it. I had 14 pieces of clothing. In the photos you will see the peach and blue short outfits, which are soft lightweight pajamas. Then you see five shirts that fold up into a small fist size. Then three pairs of pants that are also able to fold small and fit into packing cubes. Then in that same photo you see a pair of white stretch jeans and lastly, a bathing suit cover-up that I use as a lounging or after bath cover up. My point is, that these clothes are wash and wear and can’t even be pressed because of the material. I called the business and let the associate know that my concern was that I needed my clothes in time to board a flight early Saturday morning. So we both agreed I would need to get the clothes to her before they closed that very same day. I jumped in my rental car and got there five minutes before they closed. I explained again that I only needed my clothes washed, not dry cleaned. She took my info and said I could pick them up the next day after five but before they closed at six. I asked if I could have a receipt and she said it was all done through my email. I left and felt a little weird that we didn’t count and figure out all the pieces I had but I thought it would all come to me in an email. ( it did not ) So the big reveal is that when I picked up my clothes, they charged me $175.00!!! I was shocked and heartbroken. When I showed concern the associate, this woman was different from the original woman I had worked with. She said that they washed and pressed my clothes and oh my goodness yes I had a dress too and that’s more expensive. I asked how you press clothes that are polyester and spandex and she said they steam them. I don’t understand this, nor do I understand how a bathing suit cover-up can be charged the same as a cocktail dress or perhaps a nice church dress. I was in shock. I also couldn’t walk away, these were my work clothes. I take responsibility for my part, I should have demanded the receipt, which would have had the price and how many pieces. If I had known they charged that much I would never have left my clothes with them. I also acted gullible. Remember, I don’t do it often but on many occasions I have had this service done in my eleven years, so I thought I would be paying $30. Or perhaps I had a few more items than normal so $50 or $60 tops. But $175 is ridiculous and outrageous. If you divide $175 by 14 pieces of clothing, that is $12.50 per item. So my two pairs of pajamas, the shorts with tank tops cost me $25 each. My “dress that costs more” which is a bathing suit cover-up, what did that cost, $25 or $30? I find that when I tell people I’m not a local and I travel, on more than one occasion, I’m treated with less respect because they know I won’t be back. But I write reviews, and that’s like me coming back every time a potential new customer looks at their reviews. Please learn from my mistakes, don’t let this business take advantage of you, or better yet, don’t go to this business. I’m sure there are far more honest business out there.
