Stains left on my two coats. Overall quality of dry cleaning: seems like I never took them to clean.

Have not received my items back yet. Review is mainly for the service so far. Very bizarre and tense interaction with woman staff (Emisha) member at the desk of the brighton location on 10/5/24. Brought a dress shirt to be laundered and a suit to be dry cleaned. From the very beginning, she was extremely short and was cutting me off while speaking multiple times despite me trying to be friendly. I had two stains on my shirt that I asked for them to see if they were able to remove. She said, “ they will try” and attempted to take the shirt without even seeing where the stains were. I had to request twice for her to actually look at the garment. I then asked if the suits are usually ironed after being cleaned. After being told yes, I asked the staff member if we need to mark the areas on the pants where it was double creased because that was something I was hoping to have remedied. Instead of answering the question, she looked away and said “you’re all set”. Just to verify if I had perhaps not phrased the question correctly, I asked again, to which she stared at me and replied exactly the same. Was I asking too much for a “yes” or a “no” ? Not sure what that was all about. First time here. Hopefully the items turn out okay.

I only write reviews if my service or experience falls into extremes. This experience was unfortunately not good: I brought 3 outerwear items to the location in Brighton on a Wednesday. Front facing customer service was great. I was told I could pick up that Friday, save for any issues with a loose jacket zipper I wanted fixed. I shared I would come Tuesday instead. I signed a waiver for my short wool dress cape, as it had 'leather' material & Julian's doesn't want to be responsible for any mishaps. The cape was the only item with 'dry clean only' on the tag, what harm could come to it? Tuesday morning I noticed that my items were still 'in process' in the online system so I sent a text message to confirm that they would be ready that afternoon. I received a quick response letting me know that the tailor had tried to contact me over the weekend, because my jacket zipper needed to be replaced. I consented. I was told that I could pick up my other 2 outerwear items that afternoon (I assume), or I could pick all 3 up together once the jacket's zipper was repaired. In no rush, I opted to pick up all 3 at the same time. I should mention that the tailor also called me that afternoon to talk about about replacing the zipper & the price. Fast forward to exactly one week later, on Tuesday, I sent another text message in the morning asking about the status of my outerwear as the online system continued to show 'in process.' After hours with no reply, I emailed via the online system asking if my items were ready for pickup. Later that afternoon Dylan emailed me back, apologizing for the delayed response & informed me that my items would be ready that afternoon. I made my way to Julian's Dry Cleaners and again, the same helpful woman placed my items on the rack at the front so that I could inspect them and test the new jacket zipper etc. One item, however, the wool cape was not there. I made mention of this and she went to look for it but came back empty handed. It should have been, because it was ready last week. She called another location and spoke to the same Dylan I emailed & while on speaker he relayed to me 1. his apologies for mis-communicating that all of my items would be ready that afternoon and 2. that my wool cape appeared to be 'lost' and that they were looking for it. I found that odd since it wasn't lost a week ago when I was told I could pick it up in advance of my jacket, but I didn't stress it. He went on to share that sometimes these things happen, and that an employee had looked at two different locations that items from the Brighton store are usually taken to for cleaning and would look again. He asked for 1 more week to locate my cape & explained to me that if it did not re-appear the dry cleaner would work with me to identify a fair price & pay for the lost item. If it was found, I would not be expected to pay for the cleaning. Well, I should hope not. After ending the call, I paid for the other two items and the woman assured me that lost items usually show up and that she would look around that storefront once more to locate it. 3 more days passed and on that Friday AM I received a call from another Julian's representative, & although I missed his name, I presume that he was the person who cleaned my wool cape because he told me in no uncertain terms that my wool cape was now 'unwearable.' He asked me about the material. I told him that I didn't know what it was & that I brought it in to be cleaned because it was dry clean only. He stated that sometimes manufactures put 'dry clean only' on materials they shouldn't & that once the non-wool material on the cape had dried from whatever cleaning agent was placed on it, it had cracked. I'm unsure if they spot test or read the labels. He told me he couldn't wash it since it was wool & reiterated that I'd signed the waiver negating any responsibility on the part of Julian's cleaners, but lucky me, I won't have to pay the $14 cleaning fee. I picked up my ruined coat today, & didn't have to pay for the cleaning that ruined it. Just had to wait 17 days.

The friendly service provided by Elisha at drop off was outstanding. I really found the texting alerting me that my order was ready for pickup to be very helpful. The price was very reasonable, and the quality of the dry cleaning was excellent. This was the best dry cleaning service that I have ever experienced. Julian’s just became my dry cleaning service going forward. I only wished I had discovered them sooner.
